Lourdes shot just 20.8% from the floor over the final 20 minutes on Saturday afternoon and suffered a 61-40 loss to Lawrence Tech at the Ridler Fieldhouse in Southfield, Mich.
There were seven ties and three lead changes in the opening 20 minutes before Lawrence Tech took the lead for good, 27-25, on a triple with 20 seconds remaining in the opening stanza. Lourdes shot 44.4% from the field in the first half to keep the game the close while
Alonzo Hamilton (Linden, N.J./The Robinson School) scored seven all of his points in the period.
The Blue Devils went on a 24-7 run over 13 minutes in the second half to push the lead to 19, 53-34, and never looked back, while limiting the Gray Wolves to just five field goals over the final 20 minutes.
Lourdes went scoreless from three-point range (0-12), and made just 6-of-12 (50%) from the free throw line in the setback as well. Lawrence Tech outrebounded the Gray Wolves 38-31.
E.J. Blackwell (Rochester, Pa./Rochester H.S.) led Lourdes with 11 points.
Jon Harden paced Lawrence Tech (5-19, 4-12 WHAC) with 15 points while Brad Watterworth added 14 more. The Blue Devils shot 47.4% from the field on the day.
Lourdes (8-15, 3-13) will return home on Wednesday evening to host Concordia (Mich.). Tip-off against the Cardinals is set for 8 p.m. at Tam-o-Shanter.
