Photo GalleryLourdes banged out 24 hits, including seven for extra bases, on Monday afternoon as the Gray Wolves posted victories over Bethel (Ind.) and Lyndon State at Hancock Park in Clermont, Fla. The Gray Wolves were 7-6 victors over the Pilots before downing Lyndon State 13-2.

"We came out and played a lot more relaxed today than we did yesterday," head coach
Jo Ann Gordon said afterwards. "We did a better job of executing the little things and everyone made the most of their opportunities when they were called upon."

In the opener against Bethel, Lourdes took the lead in the second inning on a two-run double by
Olivia Stanton (Loveland, Ohio/Loveland H.S.). After the Pilots cut the lead in half in the fifth, the Gray Wolves added to their advantage with three runs in the bottom of the inning.Â
Breyahna Guy (Brownstown, Mich./Woodhaven H.S.) doubled home a run and
Bre Megyesi (Whitehouse, Ohio/Anthony Wayne H.S.) tallied an RBI single while the a third run scored on a throwing error.

Bethel (0-1) pulled to within one, 5-4, with three runs in the sixth before
Taylor Tafelski (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg H.S.) hit a pinch-hit home run to lead off the sixth inning, her first collegiate round-tripper. The Pilots tied the game in the seventh on a two-run home run by Hunter Brummett before the Gray Wolves won the game in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the seventh.Â
Taylor Genzman (Grosse Pointe, Mich./Lakeview H.S.) led off the inning with an infield single back to the pitcher. She proceeded to steal second and third before scoring on a wild pitch.

Genzman finished the game 3-for-4 with three runs scored and three stolen bases while Stanton went 2-for-3 with two runs batted in. Brummett led Bethel at the plate, going 3-for-4 with the home run and two runs batted in.

Kloee Cuckler (Barberton, Ohio/Barberton H.S.) earned the win (1-0) for Lourdes, allowing just two runs and five hits in 5.2 innings of work. She walked two while striking out five. Danica Mast suffered the loss (0-1), allowing three runs on six hits, but walked six.

Lourdes tallied 14 hits against Lyndon State, and did all of its scoring in three innings. The Gray Wolves tallied seven runs in the top of the second, highlighted by a two-run single by
Jaime Newman (Edgerton, Ohio/Edgerton H.S.). Lourdes sent 11 hitters to the plate in the inning, before seeing eight more step to the dish in the third.

Lourdes tacked on three more runs in the third, utilizing three doubles in the inning, to build a 10-0 lead. After the Hornets plated an unearned run in the third, the Gray Wolves tacked on three more runs in the fifth on the way to the win. Lyndon State (0-10) registered a pair of hits, after being no-hit through four innings, in the fifth and scored their final run.

Erica Marvaso (Huron Township, Mich./Woodhaven H.S.) went 3-for-4 with three runs batted in while Newman and
Megan Mosiniak (Swanton, Ohio/Evergreen H.S.) each went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. Lourdes pinch hitters went 5-for-7 over the two games as well.

"Our clutch hitting was great today," Gordon added. "We had some nice big two out hits."

Marissa Kostick (Saint Charles, Mich./Saint Charles H.S.) earned her first collegiate victory (1-0) in the circle, allowing one unearned run and no hits in three innings of work. Shelby Sheridan (0-4) suffered the loss, allowing 11 earned runs and 14 hits while also walking four.

"The pitchers did a nice job," Gordon concluded. "The freshmen came out and were great in the circle in the two games."

Lourdes (2-2) will return to the diamond on Tuesday for a pair of games. The Gray Wolves will face the University of Mary at 1 p.m. and 16
th-ranked Southeastern at 3 p.m. at Legends Way in Clermont.
