Ninth-ranked Lourdes hit .451 with just seven errors on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves won their fifth straight match, defeating Calumet College of Saint Joseph 25-13, 25-4, 25-14 at the Rittenmeyer Center in Whiting, Ind.
 
Zachary Hawkins (Dickinson, Texas/Dickinson H.S.) tallied 15 kills to lead Lourdes offensively while 
Ryan Maune (Washington, Mo./Saint Francis Borgia H.S.) and 
Garrett Jones (Las Vegas, Nev./Las Vegas H.S.) each had nine kills.  Maune hit .571 on the afternoon while Jones and 
Eric Ubior (Guaynabo, P.R./Wesleyan Academy), who added eight kills, each swung at a .500 clip.
 
Ryan Ferkel (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly H.S.) handed out 35 assists while 
CJ Rilveria (Kula, Hawaii/Kekaulike H.S.) tallied 17 digs defensively as Lourdes outdug the Crimson Wave 44-28.
 
"This was a sound match all-around which helped us get the win," head coach 
Greg Reitz said afterwards.  "We played pretty well with our serve and pass, and got some big blocks at times."
 
Lourdes took control early racing out to a 6-1 lead behind the service of Ubior in the opening set.  Ferkel served up an 8-0 run late that put the Gray Wolves on top 23-8, as the Gray Wolves hit .423.
 
In set two, after an opening side out, Ferkel served up 11 straight points as Lourdes built a 12-0 lead on the way to the win.  The Gray Wolves hit .737 with 14 kills while holding Calumet to a -.167 clip.
 
In the third, Lourdes led 12-8 before Ferkel's service again propelled Lourdes, this time with six straight points as the Gray Wolves extending their set winning streak to 11 straight.
 
Trevor Wagner led Calumet (2-7) with seven kills while Liam Fagan tallied 10 digs defensively.  The Crimson Wave hit -.060 for the match.
 
Lourdes (7-1) will return home on Wednesday evening to begin a three-match homestand.  First serve against Lawrence Tech is set for 7 p.m. at Tam-o-Shanter.
