Lourdes concluded its spring trip on Saturday morning, dropping a 9-5 decision to 10
th-ranked Saint Xavier before rebounding to defeat Trinity International 4-1 at Sleepy Hollow Park in Leesburg, Fla.

In the opener against Saint Xavier, the Cougars scored three runs over the first two innings to take the early lead. Lourdes tied the game in the fourth, taking advantage of an error to score three unearned runs.Â

Newman and Stanton each had two hits as part of Lourdes' six-hit effort. Savannah Kinsella went 4-for-4 to lead Saint Xavier's 14-hit attack.

Caroline Kuzel earned the win (2-0) for Saint Xavier (3-0), going the distance while not allowing an earned run.Â
Brooke Gallaher (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) suffered the loss (1-3), despite giving up just two earned runs and 10 hits in five innings.

Marissa Kostick (Saint Charles, Mich./Saint Charles H.S.) tossed a complete game three-hitter in recording the win 3-1) over Trinity International (1-1). The freshman did not allow an earned run and did not walk anyone while striking out seven.

Kayla Encalado (Walbridge, Ohio/Lake H.S.) put the Gray Wolves on top in the third with a RBI double, scoring Roberts. Encalado scored one batter later as
Breyahna Guy (Brownstown, Mich./Woodhaven H.S.) singled up the middle. Roberts added a RBI groundout in the fifth to score Newman as Lourdes built a 3-0 lead.

The Trojans took advantage of two Lourdes errors in the sixth to score their lone run, but the Gray Wolves added an insurance tally in the bottom of the inning as Megyesi doubled home Encalado.
