Playing its third game in as many days, Lourdes closed out the 2016 regular season on Sunday night, suffering a 17-5 loss to sixth-ranked Lawrence Tech at Wildcat Stadium.
The Blue Devils built an 8-1 lead over the game's first 15 minutes on the way to an 11-3 lead at halftime. The Gray Wolves closed to within seven, 12-5, with 19:30 to play in the game, but Lawrence Tech (10-6, 6-4 WHAC) scored the game's final five goals.
Alyssa Long (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn H.S.) scored three times to lead the Gray Wolves while
Anna Marie Weber (North Canton, Ohio/Jackson H.S.) and
Anna Zofchak (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover H.S.) also found the back of the cage.
Shelby Kellar (Holland, Ohio/Saint Ursula H.S.) handed out a pair of assists for Lourdes.
Alyssa Shaver led Lawrence Tech with six goals while Ashley Collins added four more.
Klarque Scott (Chicago, Ill./Montini Catholic H.S.) picked up a team-high three ground balls while
Kiley Ketteman (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson H.S.) made 11 saves in goal.
Lawrence Tech finished the game holding a 37-13 shot advantage.
Lourdes (6-9, 3-7) finishes the regular season tied with Siena Heights for fourth place in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference standings. The Gray Wolves will now have to await the results of the league tie-breaker to determine if they earn a berth in next weekend's WHAC tournament.
