For the fourth time in the last five games Lourdes scored at least 20 goals on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves defeated Aquinas 21-10 on a cold afternoon at the Aquinas Athletic Field in Grand Rapids, Mich.

"Today was a great team win," head coach
Patrick Yannarelli said. "They beat us last year and our guys came to play today. The offense continues to improve and get better each game. The defense played well and improved in some areas. We are proud of the way we are coming together and looking forward to practice this week."

Lourdes took advantage of numerous Aquinas penalties, scoring seven times on 11 man-up opportunities in the game. The Gray Wolves outshot the Saints 44-27 and won 20 of 31 faceoffs on the afternoon.

The Gray Wolves jumped out to a 9-1 lead with 12:43 to play in the second quarter before taking a 12-4 lead into intermission. The two teams played even in the third, as Lourdes led 15-7 heading into the final quarter, and the Gray Wolves scored six of the first seven goals in the fourth to put the game out of reach.

Dalton Vowles (Toledo, Ohio/Saint John's H.S.) scored a game-high seven goals for Lourdes while
Danny Bichsel (Westerville, Ohio/North H.S.) had nine points with six goals and six assists.Â
Jared Yoshino (Toledo, Ohio/Southview H.S.) had an eight-point game, adding three tallies and five helpers. The three goals give Yoshino 100 for his career.

Dylan Gill (Holland, Ohio/Saint Francis H.S.) added three goals while
Casey Hilfinger (Whitehouse, Ohio/Anthony Wayne H.S.) and
Tanner Jaramillo (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) each tallied one goal. Jaramillo also had three assists.

Jay Fisher (Toledo, Ohio/Southview H.S.) led the Gray Wolves with four groundballs while
Marty Gospodarski (Lincoln, Neb./Southwest H.S.) won 11 of his 15 faceoffs. In goal,
Conner Mishler (Lambertville, Mich./Saint John's H.S.) made six saves for Lourdes.

Lourdes (11-2, 3-1) will close out the 2016 regular season next Saturday as the Gray Wolves host Lawrence Tech. The opening faceoff is set for 2 p.m. with Senior Day activities taking place prior to the game.
