Lourdes wrapped up the 2017 regular season on Wednesday evening, celebrating Senior Night inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center with a 25-16, 25-14, 20-25, 25-18 victory over Rochester (Mich.).

The victory snapped a three-match losing streak for the Gray Wolves on a night Lourdes honored
Genessee Tate (West Covina, Calif./West Covina H.S.) and
Lauren Norman (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman H.S.) prior to the match.

"It was great to finish the regular season with a win at home on Senior Night," head coach
Greg Reitz said following the match. "We showed signs of sound volleyball at times, and were more disciplined that we have been."

Tate tallied a match-high 18 kills in the victory, swinging at a .261 clip, to pace the offense.Â
Tylar Roberson (Elkhart, Ind./Central H.S.) added a double-double with 13 kills and 19 digs while
Jami Markus (Oregon, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.) handed out 52 assists.

Defensively,
Angelica Dippold (Louisville, Ky./Mercy Academy) registered 20 digs while
Shannon Fischer (Toledo, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.) and
Kristin Murrell (Toledo, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.) each added 15 digs.

As a team Lourdes hit .226 for the match while limiting the Warriors to a .084 clip, posting a 58-35 advantage in kills for the night.

A 6-0 run early in set one put Lourdes in front for good and the Gray Wolves extended their lead late, closing the set on a 9-3 spurt. Markus and Murrell led an 11-1 run for Lourdes from the service line in set two as the Gray Wolves built a 16-6 lead on the way to taking a 2-0 lead in the match.

Rochester extended the match winning the third set, jumping out to an 8-1 lead. After Lourdes rallied to take an 18-17 advantage, the Warriors scored six unanswered points to regain its edge, 23-18 on the way to the win.

Lourdes never trailed in the final set, scoring five of the first six points and slowly extending its advantage throughout to close out the match.

Laura Wilson led Rochester (9-22, 2-13 WHAC) with 12 kills while Jazyln Teichow had 25 assists and 19 digs for the Warriors.

Lourdes (19-10, 10-5) will open Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament play at home next Wednesday evening. Official pairings from the league office will be announced at a later time.
