Lourdes Suffers Road Defeat Wednesday at Madonna

Lourdes wrapped up play in the month of November on Wednesday evening, suffering an 81-66 loss to Madonna on the road inside The Activities Center in Livonia, Mich.

The Gray Wolves took their only lead of the game, 13-11, as Malik Thurman's (Dayton, Ohio/Stebbins H.S.) pair of free throws capped a 10-3 Lourdes run.  Madonna immediately responded, scoring the game's next eight points to seize the advantage, one the Crusaders would not relinquish the rest of the game.

Madonna took a 35-29 lead into the locker room, and pushed the lead to eight out of the break before Lourdes cut into its deficit.  A jumper by Jordan Fabry (Shalersville, Ohio/Crestwood H.S.) pulled the Gray Wolves within three, 42-39, with 15 minutes to play.

A 17-8 run by the Crusaders followed, pushing the hosts' lead to double figures with 10:22 left in the second half, before the lead eventually swelled to 16 points.  Lourdes tried to claw back one more time, pulling within nine, 71-62, with four minutes left.  The Gray Wolves managed just one field goal the rest of the way though in the setback.

Kadeim Jones (Dayton, Ohio/Marshall H.S.) led Lourdes with 17 points on the evening while Thurman added 15 more, along with a team-high nine rebounds.  Clif Snow (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown H.S.) also finished in double figures, tallying 13 points for the Gray Wolves while adding eight boards.

Lourdes committed just eight turnovers in the game, but shot 34.4% from the floor, including 6-of-28 (21.4%) from three-point range.

Joshua Reynolds led Madonna (7-3, 3-1 WHAC) with 30 points off the bench, making 7-of-9 from three-point range.  Davon Taylor added 12 points for the Crusaders.

Lourdes (4-6, 0-4) will have a week off from action before welcoming second-ranked Cornerstone to the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center next Wednesday evening.  Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
