Lourdes split a doubleheader with Saint Francis (Ind.) on Friday morning, winning the opener 7-2 before dropping game two 8-4 at Hancock Park in Clermont, Fla.

Saint Francis took the lead in the opener with single runs in the first and third before the Gray Wolves tied the game in the fourth.Â
Olivia Stanton (Loveland, Ohio/Loveland H.S.) scored when
Taylor Tafelski (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg H.S.) reached on a three-base error, and
Marissa Kostick (Saint Charles, Mich./Saint Charles H.S.) plated Tafelski with a groundout.

Lexi Buck (Holland, Ohio/Springfield H.S.), who earned her first collegiate win (1-1) allowed just three hits after the third inning, keeping the game tied until the seventh. Buck finished the game allowing just two runs and six hits while striking out six.

Lourdes offense came alive in the seventh, sending 10 batters to the plate while scoring five times.Â
Taylor Genzman (Saint Clair Shores, Mich./Lakeview H.S.) put the Gray Wolves in front with a bases loaded run-scoring single. A throwing error on fielder's choice plated the second run before Stanton drew a bases loaded walk. Tafelski's two-run single increased the lead to 7-2, and Buck closed out the game in the bottom half of the inning.

Genzman had three hits and Tafelski added two more as part of Lourdes' seven-hit attack.

Heather Zengler suffered the loss (1-1) in the circle, allowing four earned runs and seven hits in a complete game effort.

Lourdes took the lead in the opening inning of game two as Genzman singled, advanced to second on a passed ball, and scored on
Kayla Encalado's (Walbridge, Ohio/Lake H.S.) single.

The Cougars took the lead in the third on a two-run double, but Lourdes responded with two runs in the bottom of the fourth. Genzman had a RBI double before Encalado added a run-scoring hit.

Saint Francis (2-2) retook the lead with six runs in the top of the sixth, sending 11 batters to the plate.

Lourdes added a run in the bottom of the frame as Encalado doubled and scored on a fielder's choice, but the Gray Wolves were unable to add any more runs.

Meghan Birr (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores H.S.) each had three hits as part of an 11-hit effort for the Gray Wolves.

Dana Claussen earned the win in relief for the Cougars, allowing just one unearned run in 3.2 innings of relief.Â
Samantha Shirling (Pemberville, Ohio/Eastwood H.S.) suffered the loss, giving up eight runs and 11 hits in 5.1 innings.

Lourdes (3-7) will close out its trip in Clermont on Saturday morning, facing seventh-ranked Marian at 8 a.m. before battling Hannibal-LaGrange at noon at Foundation Academy.
