Lourdes wrapped up its 12-game spring trip in Clermont, Fla. on Saturday with a pair of games at Foundation Academy. The Gray Wolves dropped the opener to seventh-ranked Marian 9-1 before rebounding to defeat Hannibal-LaGrange 11-6.
In the first game against Marian, the Gray Wolves manufactured a run in the opening inning.

The Knights batted around in the second, scoring five times on six hits to take the lead. Marian added three more runs in the fourth, loading the bases before a pair of groundouts plated two and an error added another. Marian reloaded the bases again in the fifth before a sacrifice fly ended the game.

Erica Marvaso (Huron Township, Mich./Woodhaven H.S.) and
Paige Churchfield (Saginaw, Mich./Swan Valley H.S.) had four hits each, with Marvaso also driving home four runs.
"Ending this trip with a win was a great way to cap off a challenging week," head coach
Jo Ann Gordon said after the game. "We played a tough and demanding schedule, and I was pleased to see the fight and energy we had today."
After allowing a run in the top of the first, Lourdes batted around in the second, sending 10 hitters to the plate while scoring six times. Marvaso had a two-run single while Churchfield and
Marissa Kostick (Saint Charles, Mich./Saint Charles H.S.) each had RBI hits as well. The Gray Wolves also plated runs via a hit batter and a bases loaded walk.
Hannibal-LaGrange (7-9) cut the lead to 6-3 in the third before the Gray Wolves batted around again in the fifth. Encalado had a RBI after reaching on an error and Marvaso drove home two more with a single as part of a four-run inning, increasing the advantage to 10-3.
The Trojans plated three, all with two outs, in the sixth before Encalado produced another run-scoring single in the bottom of the frame to add the final insurance run.
Kelsey Beck (Paulding, Ohio/Paulding H.S.) and
Meghan Birr (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores H.S.) also had multi-hit games for the Gray Wolves while Genzman hit safely for the 12

"We learned a lot about ourselves this week and we will work on the areas we need to improve upon before our next game," Gordon concluded.
