Lourdes kept Concordia (Mich.) off of the scoreboard over the opening 45 minutes on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves defeated the Cardinals 16-5 at Cardinal Stadium in Ann Arbor, Mich. to earn their first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference victory of the season.
 
"We were in control of the game from start to finish," head coach 
Paul Sieben said afterwards.  "It was a great opportunity to get a large number of players a chance to score.  We were able to try some new sets and rotations in what was an overall successful contest."
 
Nine different Gray Wolves found the back of the cage in the win.  
Alyssa Long (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn H.S.) scored four of her five goals in the first half as Lourdes built a 9-0 lead at the break.  The lead grew to 13-0 midway through the second half following a 
Hannah Cullis (Fort Worth, Texas/Central H.S.) goal.
 
Concordia (2-4, 1-4 WHAC) finally found the back of the net with 12:49 to play, the first of four straight goals, but 
Tiara Reed (Maumee, Ohio/Anthony Wayne H.S.) scored her third of her three goals with 4:40 to play to end the rally.
 
Anna Marie Weber (North Canton, Ohio/Jackson H.S.) added two goals and an assist on the afternoon while 
Mary Tressel (Stow, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls H.S.), 
Lolo Garza (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview H.S.), 
Shelby Kellar (Holland, Ohio/Saint Ursula H.S.), 
Anna Zofchak (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover H.S.), and 
Ashley Hunt (Cape May, N.J./Lower Cape May H.S.) all scored as well.
 
The Gray Wolves outshot Concordia 27-16 on the afternoon and held a 22-16 edge in ground balls as well as a 14-8 edge in draw controls.  Tressel led Lourdes with six ground balls, three draw controls, and caused six turnovers as well.
 
In goal, 
Kiley Ketteman (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson H.S.) made five saves in the win.
 
Lourdes (2-5, 1-3) will return home to Wildcat Stadium on Sunday evening as the Gray Wolves host second-ranked Lawrence Tech.  The opening draw is set for 7 p.m.
