Lourdes fell behind from the opening minute on Wednesday evening and was unable to recover, suffering its first loss of the season to eighth-ranked Indiana Tech 14-7 at the Warrior Athletic Field in Fort Wayne, Ind.

The Warriors scored twice in the first 55 seconds and second-ranked Lourdes was never able to tie the game back up in a battle of teams that entered the contest undefeated in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.

Dalton Vowles (Toledo, Ohio/Saint John's H.S.) scored three times and added an assist while
Casey Hilfinger (Whitehouse, Ohio/Anthony Wayne H.S.) had a three-point game, including two goals, for the Gray Wolves.Â
Jared Yoshino (Toledo, Ohio/Southview H.S.) and
Nic Mueller (Temperance, Mich./Bedford H.S.) each found the back of the cage as well, with Mueller's tally being his first of the season.

Indiana Tech led 6-3 after one quarter and increased the lead to 9-5 at the break as Lourdes trailed at halftime for the first time this season. The Warriors then limited the Gray Wolves to just two goals over the final 30 minutes.

Conner Mishler (Lambertville, Mich./Saint John's H.S.) made 12 saves in goal for Lourdes while Yoshino, Mishler, and
Tanner Jaramillo (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) led the way with four ground balls each.

Will McKinney led Indiana Tech (8-2, 4-0 WHAC) with eight goals while Chandler Peterson added four more in the win.

Lourdes (6-1, 2-1) will look to rebound on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves travel to Southfield, Mich. to battle fifth-ranked Lawrence Tech. The opening faceoff is set for 4 p.m. at the LTU Athletic Field.
