Casey Hilfinger's (Whitehouse, Ohio/Anthony Wayne H.S.) goal with 1:23 to play pushed second-ranked Lourdes past eighth-ranked SCAD-Savannah on Monday evening at the SCAD Athletic Complex in Savannah, Ga.

"It was a hard-fought game and our leaders took control in the end," head coach
Patrick Yannarelli said afterwards. "We are pleased with the win and the tight game let us know we have a crew that works hard until the end. We know the areas that we need to work on and look forward to improving each day moving forward."

Lourdes started quickly, building a 6-3 lead after the opening quarter. The Gray Wolves held a 10-8 advantage at halftime and increased the lead to four with two goals in the first three minutes of the third quarter. SCAD battled back, tying the game at 13 with 3:56 to play before Hilfinger's second goal of the game gave Lourdes the lead for good.

Jared Yoshino (Toledo, Ohio/Southview H.S.) and
Dalton Vowles (Toledo, Ohio/Saint John's H.S.) each had four goals for the Gray Wolves, with Yoshino adding four assists for eight total points.Â
Tanner Jaramillo (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.),
D.J. Harris (Miamisburg, Ohio/Miamisburg H.S.),
Mark O'Bryant (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights H.S.), and
Austin Burger (Monroe, Mich./Saint Mary Catholic Central H.S.) each added tallies as well.

Conner Mishler (Lambertville, Mich./Saint John's H.S.) made 14 saves to earn the win.Â
Austin Creske (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome H.S.) picked up a game-high six ground balls.

Jack Cioffi led SCAD-Savannah (5-1) with four goals while Connor Goonan made 10 saves.

Lourdes (2-0) will return to action on Thursday afternoon, traveling to West Point, Ga. to battle Point. The opening faceoff is set for 2 p.m. at River Bowl Stadium.
