Lourdes fell behind early in both games of Friday's doubleheader and dropped a pair of 9-1 decisions to Michigan-Dearborn at Alumni Field in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Michigan-Dearborn's offense continued in the fifth as the Wolverines scored an unearned run before adding three more, including another unearned tally, in the sixth to close out the game.

Alexandra Elwell went the distance to earn the win (7-1) for the hosts, allowing just three hits in her six innings of work.Â
Brooke Gallaher (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) suffered the loss (3-6), surrendering three runs and four hits in two innings.

The Wolverines batted around, scoring five times in the opening inning of game two, with Gina Verduzco delivering a two-run single before Morgan Larkin followed with a three-run home run for the big blows.

Michigan-Dearborn added three more runs in the second before Stanton homered in the fourth for the lone Gray Wolf run. The Wolverines then closed the game out in the fifth, scoring an unearned run.

Verduzco yielded just two hits in the circle while striking out seven to earn the win (10-3) for Michigan-Dearborn (22-6-1, 11-2-1 WHAC) while Kostick suffered the loss (2-6), allowing five runs and four hits in 1.1 innings.

Lourdes (7-19, 1-9) will return home to Pacesetter Park on Saturday morning to host Indiana Tech in a doubleheader. Â First pitch is set for 11 a.m. in game one.
