Indiana Tech scored three times in the top of the seventh in game one to defeat Lourdes 5-3, but the Gray Wolves turned the tables in game two, downing the Warriors 8-0 on Saturday at Pacesetter Park.

Marissa Kostick (Saint Charles, Mich./Saint Charles H.S.) doubled to the right-centerfield gap to score
Olivia Stanton (Loveland, Ohio/Loveland H.S.) in the bottom of the first, allowing the Gray Wolves to tie the game. A double by

Another unearned run in the fifth, this one on a squeeze bunt, allowed Indiana Tech to tie the game.

A double by Stanton and a two-out triple by Tafelski again put the Gray Wolves in front, this time 3-2 heading to the seventh, but the Warriors plated three. Indiana Tech tied the game on a single by Brianna Glass and took the lead with a two-run hit by Caitlyn Walter.

Tori Simpler earned the win (3-8) in the circle for Indiana Tech, allowing three runs on eight hits in six innings, while Maggie McCrory pitched a scoreless seventh, coming on in relief with a runner aboard, to earn the save.Â
Brooke Gallaher (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) suffered the loss (3-7), allowing three earned runs and seven hits while going the distance.

Tafelski and Kostick both had two hits for the Gray Wolves in the opener while Glass went 2-for-3 with two runs batted in for the Warriors.

Lourdes bats came alive in game two, as the Gray Wolves plated three runs in the opening inning. Stanton had a run-scoring single while Tafelski and
Oliviah Banister (Wauseon, Ohio/Wauseon H.S.) both had RBI doubles.

Kayla Encalado (Walbridge, Ohio/Lake H.S.), Kostick, and Stanton delivered three straight RBI singles to increase the lead to 6-0.

Stanton's RBI double in the sixth made it 7-0 Lourdes before
Paige Churchfield (Saginaw, Mich./Swan Valley H.S.) delivered a pinch-hit run-scoring single to end the game.

Stanton went 3-for-4 with three runs batted in for the Gray Wolves in the nightcap while Kostick, Tafelski, and Banister had two hits each as part of a 12-hit attack.

Kostick tossed her third shutout of the season in the circle, striking out three while allowing just four hits. She did not walk anyone for the win (3-6). McCrory took the loss (0-10) for Indiana Tech (4-29-1, 1-10 WHAC), allowing three runs and five hits in 2.1 innings of work.

Lourdes (8-20, 2-10) will step out of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action for three straight doubleheaders next week, beginning on Monday with a trip to Cleary. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. at Parker Fields in Howell, Mich.
