Lourdes scored seven of the first eight goals on Monday afternoon at Wildcat Stadium, on its way to defeating Madonna 19-4 for the Gray Wolves' second win of the season against the Crusaders.

"Our team showed they have the talent to be successful and should expect future success as long as they play as a team," head coach Paul Sieben said afterwards.  "They need to have the same focus, confidence, and intensity against every team."

Lolo Garza (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) started the scoring just over five minutes into the game, scoring from the free position before Anna Marie Weber (North Canton, Ohio/Jackson H.S.) followed 18 seconds later.  Shelby Kellar (Holland, Ohio/Saint Ursula H.S.) scored twice early, as did Alyssa Long (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn H.S.).  When Weber tallied her second of the game with 15:49 to play in the first half Lourdes had built a 7-1 lead.

The Gray Wolves scored the final six goals of the first half as well to build a 14-3 lead at intermission.  Mary Tressel (Stow, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls H.S.) tallied a pair of goals during the run at the end of the half while Garza, Weber, Ashley Hunt (Cape May, N.J./Lower Cape May H.S.), and Long also got in on the scoring.

Long added two more goals in the second half to finish with six for the day while Hunt, Kellar, and Anna Zofchak (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover H.S.) also were involved in the scoring over the final 30 minutes.

Lourdes outshot Madonna 32-16 for the afternoon, including a 25-11 advantage on goal.  Kiley Ketteman (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson H.S.) made seven saves in goal for the Gray Wolves while Stephanie Mackley made six stops for the Crusaders.  Sarah Carlson and Emily Johnson each scored twice for Madonna (0-14, 0-12 WHAC).

Lourdes also held a 19-8 advantage in ground balls, with Garza collecting four to pace Lourdes.  Tressel had a team-high three draw controls as the Crusaders held a 16-9 advantage in that category.

Lourdes (5-9, 4-7) will remain home on Wednesday afternoon as the Gray Wolves host Aquinas at Wildcat Stadium.  The opening draw is set for 4 p.m., with Senior Day activities honoring Garza taking place prior to the game.
