Upcoming in Gray Wolves Softball: A busy week is ahead for Lourdes softball as the Gray Wolves have four doubleheaders scheduled, including three at Pacesetter Park.  Lourdes hosts Rochester (Mich.) in non-conference action on Tuesday before returning to league play on Wednesday at Aquinas.  The week closes with back-to-back twinbills against Concordia (Mich.) and Madonna at Pacesetter Park.

Head Coach Jo Ann Gordon: In her fifth season on the Lourdes bench, Jo Ann Gordon has a 58-112 (.341) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  In her 15th season overall as a head softball coach, Gordon has a 210-400 (.344) career mark.  She is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes and Rochester (Mich.) have never met on the softball diamond.  Aquinas holds a 5-4 all-time edge over the Gray Wolves dating back to April 26, 2013.  Lourdes won both meetings last season though, 1-0 and 15-2, in Grand Rapids, Mich.  The series is tied 2-2 all-time in Grand Rapids.  Concordia (Mich.) holds a 7-4 series advantage dating back to April 17, 2013.  Last year the Cardinals swept the regular season meetings 11-8 and 8-4 in Ann Arbor, Mich., but Lourdes posted a 5-3 win in the WHAC tournament.  Concordia holds a 4-2 series edge at Pacesetter Park.  Madonna is 9-1 all-time against Lourdes dating back to April 14, 2013.  Last year the two teams split a pair of meetings, with Lourdes dropping the opener 10-7 before winning 4-3 at Pacesetter Park.  Madonna holds a 4-1 edge all-time at Pacesetter Park.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes dropped both games of a doubleheader to Lawrence Tech on Wednesday to open WHAC play.  The Blue Devils won the opener 5-4 in eight innings before using an eight-run fifth in game two to post an 8-5 victory.

Scouting Rochester (Mich.): The Warriors won both games of a doubleheader on Saturday against Kent State-Tuscarawas 10-0 and 5-1. Jenna Dominek leads Rochester batting .373 with two home runs and 14 runs batted in.  As a team the Warriors are hitting .281.  The Rochester pitching staff sports a 7.82 earned run average with Brooke Snyder leading the way with a 2-6 record and a 5.93 ERA.

Scouting Concordia (Mich.): The Cardinals enter the week following a doubleheader split with seventh-ranked Davenport on Sunday.  Concordia heads to Siena Heights on Wednesday before visiting Lourdes.  Amy Trionfi leads the Cardinals batting .323 on a team with a .237 average.  Samantha Eubanks leads the pitching staff with a 5-7 record and a 2.24 ERA.  Overall, Concordia pitchers sport a 2.90 earned run average.

Schedule Update: The doubleheader against Cornerstone that was postponed last Friday has been rescheduled for Thursday, April 27 beginning at 3:30 p.m.

Beck Has Solid Week: Kelsey Beck led Lourdes offensively in both games of the double header against Lawrence Tech last week.  The Gray Wolf freshman had four hits in five at bats.  She also had a double, a triple, and her first collegiate home run while driving in three runs and scoring three times.

Offense Coming Around: Lourdes outhit Lawrence Tech in both games of the doubleheader last Wednesday, combining for 17 hits in the two games.  As a team the Gray Wolves are now batting .272 with Taylor Genzman leading the way with a .463 batting average.

Circling the Bases: Meghan Birr hit her first home run at Lourdes in game two against the Blue Devils, the second of back-to-back home runs with Kelsey Beck hitting the first blast.  Birr's homer was an inside the park round-tripper, and accounted for her first run batted in of the season as well.

Going Extra: Brooke Gallaher worked all eight innings in the circle in game one against Lawrence Tech, marking the second time in her career she threw eight innings in a contest.

This and That: Lourdes is now 2-8 all-time in extra inning contests ...
