After moving to DeWitt Field in Grand Rapids, Mich. for a doubleheader on Wednesday, Lourdes dropped both ends of the twinbill against Cornerstone 15-4 and 6-1.

The Golden Eagles struck quickly in game one, batting around while plating five runs, only two of which were earned, in the opening inning. Lourdes, serving as the home team on the scoreboard in each game, responded with three in the bottom of the frame.Â
Glen Crabtree (Medina, Ohio/Black River H.S.) singled home the first run before
George Pastor (Walled Lake, Mich./Central H.S.) added a sacrifice fly and
Zach Brown (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) produced a RBI single to pull the Gray Wolves within two.

After Cornerstone scored a single run in the top of the second,
Dallas Riggs (Prescott, Ariz./Paradise Valley H.S.) doubled home
Reilly Walters (Bowmanville, Ont./Bowmanville H.S.) to make it 6-4 after two innings.

Single runs in the fifth and seventh pushed the lead back to four, 8-4, before Cornerstone scored seven times in the eighth to end the game early. Jonny Abbadusky had the big hit in the inning, a three-run home run for the game's final three tallies.

Cameron Gallo (Mason, Ohio/Bishop Fenwick H.S.) had the only multi-hit game for Lourdes in the opener, recording a pair of singles, as the Gray Wolves had seven total hits in the contest. Brady Eeles led Cornerstone's 22-hit attack with a 4-for-5 game.

Ryan Stoller (Van Wert, Ohio/Van Wert H.S.) suffered the loss (0-1), allowing six runs, only three of which were earned, and nine hits in four innings of work while walking four and striking out three. Brett Shure earned the win (3-4) in relief for the Golden Eagles, tossing six innings of two-hit, shutout baseball.

Cornerstone slowly built a lead in game two, as one run crossed the plate in the second before two runs were scored in both the fourth and sixth frames to give the Golden Eagles a 5-0 advantage.

Devin Stanley (Euclid, Ohio/Saint Edward H.S.) scored the lone Gray Wolf run, singling with two outs before coming around to cross the plate. The Golden Eagles added a late insurance run in the eighth.

Cornerstone had 16 hits in game two, with Eeles tallying three more in the nightcap, while
Dan Johnson (Westland, Mich./Franklin H.S.) going 2-for-3 to lead Lourdes' seven-hit effort.

Clay Keltner earned the win (6-3), allowing just two hits and no runs in five innings of work while
A.J. Schraffenberger (Cincinnati, Ohio/Bishop Fenwick H.S.) suffered the loss (0-2), surrendering five runs and 13 hits in six innings.

Lourdes (11-35, 7-25 WHAC) and Cornerstone (23-27, 15-15) will close out their three-game series on Friday afternoon when the site shifts to Mercy Field. First pitch in the Gray Wolves' season finale is set for 1 p.m.
