Lourdes scored early and added a late insurance tally on Saturday afternoon, as the Gray Wolves earned a 2-0 victory over Bethel (Ind.) at Wildcat Stadium.
 
The clean sheet is the Gray Wolves' third of the season, all of which have come during the current four-match unbeaten streak in which Lourdes is 3-0-1.
 
The Gray Wolves wasted little time jumping in front on the warm, sunny afternoon.  Courtney Knoerl (Farmington Hills, Mich./Farmington H.S.) sent a ball ahead through traffic, which Clare Ciarlino (Taylor, Mich./Truman H.S.) collected at the top of the box.  Following a couple of dribbles, Ciarlino fired to the far side, deflecting off goalkeeper Tessa Zimmerly's hands and into the back of the net just 2:50 into the match.
 
The match remained 1-0 into intermission, as Lourdes held a 6-5 shot advantage, including a 4-2 edge on goal.
 
Lourdes added an insurance tally with 18:26 to play.  Remy Houttekier (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Andover H.S.) fired a shot which was blocked by the Pilots' defense, but the fifth-year senior got her own rebound and scored for the second time this year.
 
Lourdes finished the match with a 13-9 shot advantage, and a 7-3 edge on goal.  Kerstyn Williams (Taylor, Mich./Woodhaven H.S.) made two first half saves for the Gray Wolves while Kiley Transit (Royal Oak, Mich./Royal Oak H.S.) made one stop in relief over the final 45 minutes.  Zimmerly made five saves for Bethel (2-4-2).
 
Lourdes (3-2-1) will close out the non-conference portion of its schedule on Wednesday afternoon as the Gray Wolves host Cleary to wrap up the four-match homestand.  Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium.
