Lourdes opened its 2018 competitive cheer season on Friday evening, sweeping a pair of competitions against Point Park inside the Franciscan Center Gymnasium.
 
The Gray Wolves won the opening meet 89.4-79.18 before downing the Pioneers a second time 89.58-82.4.
 
"Overall I am extremely proud of our performance today," head coach Chelsea Leis said afterwards.  "It was a great start to the season and a wonderful home environment to get the jitters out.  I look forward to building on our current routine and adding difficulty as we get closer to our two upcoming road trips."
 
Between the competitions, Lourdes honored its three seniors.  Ashley Fullenlove (Northwood, Ohio/Northwood H.S.), Molly Green (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer H.S.), and Tiffany Osborn (Holland, Ohio/Springfield H.S.) all were competing in their final regular season home meet.
 
Lourdes will return to action on Friday, Jan. 26, as the Gray Wolves travel to Fort Wayne, Ind. to compete in a quad meet with Saint Francis (Ind.), Indiana Tech, and Indiana Wesleyan.  The event begins at 7 p.m. inside of the Hutzell Athletic Center on the Saint Francis campus.
