Kiley Transit (Royal Oak, Mich./Royal Oak H.S.) made 15 saves on Wednesday afternoon, but 25
th-ranked University of Northwestern Ohio found the back once midway through the second half to defeat Lourdes 1-0 at Wildcat Stadium.
Transit's effort was one save shy of the Gray Wolves' school record for stops in a match, a mark she set each of the last two years in contests against the Racers.
Northwestern Ohio (7-3-3, 5-1 WHAC) fired off 19 shots in the opening 45 minutes, but Transit made nine saves before halftime, including several diving stops, to keep the match scoreless at the break.
The Racers finally broke through with just over 20 minutes remaining, as Iris Rabot sent a corner kick into the box where Ermelinda Almeida was able to get a head on the ball and find the back of the net.
The visitors finished the match with a 37-1 shot advantage, including 16-1 on goal.
Karlie O'Keefe (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) managed the Gray Wolves' only scoring chance in the match, a shot attempt from near the end line that Sindi Kanto was able to turn aside.
Lourdes (4-7-1, 1-5) will remain at home on Saturday afternoon, as the Gray Wolves welcome Cornerstone to Wildcat Stadium. Kickoff is set for noon on Homecoming weekend.
