Lourdes rebounded from its only Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference loss to date against Lawrence Tech, defeating the Blue Devils in the rematch on Wednesday evening 25-16, 27-25, 25-21 inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

The Gray Wolves hit .293 in the win, led by 14 kills from both
Emily Drenth (Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South H.S.) and
Monique Oliveira (Rio Branco, Brazil/Americo Rene Giannetti H.S.). The pair both had 11 digs as well to register double-doubles along with
Carol Goncalves (Brazilia, Brazil/Sagrado Corcacao de Maria H.S.), who handed out 39 assists and had 16 digs.

"We played well to get a solid win tonight," head coach
Greg Reitz said after. "We were solid in all aspects of the match, defending our home court. Now we need to play just as well as we head out on the road starting Friday."

The Gray Wolves built a 15-10 lead in the opening set before five straight points from the Blue Devils evened things up. Lourdes responded with the next four points though, and closed the set on a 10-1 run to take the early lead in the match.

The second set had 17 ties, but only three lead changes. Trailing 13-9, Lourdes went on a 6-1 run to pull in front, and kept the margin within one down the stretch. The Gray Wolves capitalized on their third set point to earn a 2-0 lead in the contest.

Lourdes hit .321 as a team in the third set, taking the lead early 7-3, and maintaining a multiple point advantage throughout to earn the sweep.

Tylar Roberson (Elkhart, Ind./Central H.S.) added 10 kills and hit a team-leading .348 for Lourdes while
Angelica Dippold (Louisville, Ky./Mercy Academy) recorded 27 digs.Â
Niki Polce (New Boston, Mich./Huron H.S.) had 15 digs as well.

Brittany Schmidt led Lawrence Tech (17-9, 9-4 WHAC) with 11 kills while Kristi Doherty handed out 34 assists and had a team-high 17 digs.

Lourdes (16-2, 13-1) takes to the road for four of its next five matches, beginning on Friday evening as the Gray Wolves travel to Adrian, Mich. to battle Siena Heights. First serve is set for 7:30 p.m. inside the SHU Fieldhouse.
