The Lourdes women's basketball tallied its second-highest scoring total in program history as it opened the 2018-19 home schedule with a convincing 101-47 victory over Wright State-Lake on Tuesday evening at the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

"This was a great way to start our home season," said head coach John Kenger following the victory. "Everyone scored tonight and that says a lot about how we moved the ball and played as a team. I'm especially proud of how we didn't get complacent when the score started to separate. We stuck with it and played good basketball."

Lourdes dominated the first half, outscoring the visiting Lakers (0-5) 51-23 behind an impressive shooting performance.

The Gray Wolves got off to a 6-of-7 shooting start from the field, including 3-of-3 from beyond the arc fueled by two 3-pointers from Sydney Miller (Huntsville, Ohio/Indian Lake).

Miller poured in 15 points for Lourdes to lead the way in the first half.

After climbing out to 23-11 lead in the second quarter, the Gray Wolves used a 10-0 run capped by a layup from Miller to push the lead to a comfortable 33-11.

The offensive show continued into the third quarter for Lourdes as it outscored the visitors 26-9 to push its lead to 77-32.

A layup from Kayla Kendrick cut the Lourdes lead to 61-32 with 6:54 remaining in the third stanza, but a 16-0 run capped off by a buzzer-beating layup from Sara Semler (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer) pushed the Gray Wolf lead to 77-32 after three quarters.

Lourdes continued to score at will in the final period, outscoring the Lakers 24-15 to seal the 101-47 victory.

Mikayla Stump led Wright State-Lake offensively, scoring 13 points.

The Gray Wolves were paced by Miller's 15 points, while Riley Raburn (Horton, Mich./Lumen Christi) tallied a career-high 12 points. Semler and LaTyrah Beasley (Toledo, Ohio/Bowsher) scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Lourdes was solid from the field, connecting on 43-of-71 shots (60.6%), including 7-of-18 (38.9%) from the three point mark. The Gray Wolves also pulled down 57 rebounds to the Lakers 21 boards.

The Gray Wolves (2-2) get a nine-day break and will return to action on Nov. 15 as they travel to Olivet to take on the Comets at 6:30 p.m. at the Cutler Event Center.
