Trailing by 10 with under two minutes to play, Lourdes pulled to within two and had the basketball, but was unable to tie or take the lead on Saturday, falling to Lawrence Tech 70-67 inside Ridler Field House in Southfield, Mich.

The Gray Wolves started the game quickly, draining three three-pointers in the first two-plus minutes, on the way to an early 9-3 advantage. Lourdes led 17-10 when Lawrence Tech battled back to tie the game at 19. Lourdes responded, finishing the first half on a 12-4 run, capped by a basket by
Clif Snow (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown H.S.), and the Gray Wolves took a 34-26 lead into the locker room.

Lourdes extended its lead to 10, 43-33, with 16 minutes to play in the game before Lawrence Tech scored the next 14 points to begin a 27-3 run over the next nine minutes, giving the hosts a 14-point advantage. The Gray Wolves responded with nine unanswered points of their own to pull within five, 60-55, with under five minutes to play.

Lawrence Tech pushed the lead back to 10, 67-57, with just under two minutes remaining before Lourdes made one last rally attempt. Triples by
Jordan Fabry (Shalersville, Ohio/Crestwood H.S.), Snow, and
Bryce McComb (Swanton, Ohio/Swanton H.S.) made it a 68-66 game with just under 30 seconds to play. The Gray Wolves had three chances to tie or take the lead in the final seconds, but were unable to convert.

Thurman led Lourdes with 17 points while Fabry contributed 11 and
Kadeim Jones (Dayton, Ohio/Marshall H.S.) chipped in 10 more for the Gray Wolves on the afternoon. Lourdes shot 42.1% from the floor on the day and committed just nine turnovers. Snow pulled down a team-high eight rebounds as the Gray Wolves were outboarded 37-31.

Ty'rese Searles led four Lawrence Tech (4-20, 3-15 WHAC) players in double figures with 20 points while Devonte Myles added 17 points. The Blue Devils shot 48.1% from the floor for the game to offset 14 turnovers.

Lourdes (10-17, 3-15) closes out the road portion of the 2017-2018 season on Wednesday evening, traveling to Lima, Ohio to battle the University of Northwestern Ohio. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. inside Racer Gymnasium.
