Lourdes improved to 2-0 for the first time in program history on Saturday afternoon, as the Gray Wolves defeated Asbury 19-6 in a game played at Saint Vincent Field in Indianapolis, Ind.

Alyssa Long (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn H.S.) scored seven times, Ashley Hunt (Cape May, N.J./Lower Cape May H.S.) added five goals, and Tiara Reed (Maumee, Ohio/Anthony Wayne H.S.) tallied four more for the Gray Wolves in the victory.  Hunt and Shelby Kellar (Holland, Ohio/Saint Ursula Academy) each had two assists as Lourdes had helpers on eight of the 19 tallies.

"I think we played extremely well as a team today," head coach Alyssa Shaver said afterwards.  "We were tenacious and adjusted really well to how Asbury was playing.  It showed the progress we have made since our season opener."

The game was tied at four midway through the opening half when Lourdes scored six unanswered goals to forge in front for good.  The Gray Wolves built a 12-5 lead at halftime before scoring the first six goals of the second half as well.

Kellar, Katherine Garver (Maumee, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy), and Hannah Cullis (Fort Worth, Texas/Central H.S.) each added goals in the win as well.

Long picked up 10 ground balls while Cullis won five draw controls on the afternoon.  Kiley Ketteman (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson H.S.) made six saves in goals.  Lourdes outshot the Eagles 45-19 and held a 34-20 advantage in ground balls.

Allie Hoskins and Ashley Byrd each accounted for two goals each for Asbury (0-2) while Kellie Payne made 16 saves in the cage.

Lourdes (2-0) will look to remain unbeaten on Sunday afternoon, returning to Saint Vincent Field to face host Marian.  The opening draw is set for 1 p.m.
