Lourdes opened up the home portion of the 2018 campaign on Saturday, defeating Montreat 14-3 at Wildcat Stadium.

After allowing the game's first goal less than a minute into the game, Lourdes scored the next four goals on the way to building a 4-2 lead at halftime.Â

The Gray Wolves took control in the second half, scoring all four goals in the third quarter before scoring the first five goals in the final period to earn the win.

Cory Campbell (Dayton, Ohio/Bellbrook H.S.) scored three times while
Casey Hilfinger (Whitehouse, Ohio/Anthony Wayne H.S.),
Mark O'Bryant (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights H.S.), and
Drew Gilhooly (Livonia, Mich./Detroit Catholic Central H.S.) each had a pair of goals.Â
Greg Johanning (Tivertson, R.I./Tivertson H.S.) scored once but handed out four assists for a five-point game.Â

Brent Wethington (Beavercreek, Ohio/Beavercreek H.S.) scored his first goal of the season while
Jake Noel (Knoxville, Tenn./William Blount H.S.),
D.J. Harris (Miamisburg, Ohio/Miamisburg H.S.), and
Collin Miller (Royal Oak, Mich./Shrine Catholic H.S.) each scored as well as nine total Gray Wolves found the back of the cage.

Jared Huiskens (Bay City, Mich./Central H.S.) made five saves in goal for the Gray Wolves as Lourdes outshot the Cavaliers 44-17 for the game.

Miller won 8-of-12 faceoffs and Noel won 6-of-8 as Lourdes won 15 of the 21 total draws. Miller also had a game-high 10 ground balls.

John Harris had a goal and an assist for Montreat (1-7) while James Verdier III made 13 saves in goal.

Lourdes (4-1) will have two weeks off before hosting Union (Ky.) on March 24 at Wildcat Stadium, with the opening faceoff set for 3:30 p.m.
