A 9-1 scoring run from late in the second quarter until the midway point in the fourth propelled Lourdes to a 17-9 victory over Point on Tuesday afternoon at James H. Taylor Stadium in Williamsburg, Ky.

"Today the guys took a step in the right direction," head coach
Patrick Yannarelli said afterwards. "There's still a lot of work to get done and a lot of roles to fill. Leaders need to continue to step in and help get there but we all have to be on the same page."

Lourdes scored four of the first five goals before the Skyhawks rallied to tie the game at five midway through the second quarter. Goals by
Tanner Jaramillo (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.),
Greg Johanning (Tivertson, R.I./Tivertson H.S.), and
Collin Miller (Royal Oak, Mich./Shrine Catholic H.S.) over the final four minutes of the half allowed the Gray Wolves to take an 8-5 lead into the break.

Cory Campbell (Dayton, Ohio/Bellbrook H.S.) scored 1:08 into the third, the first of three Gray Wolf tallies in the quarter, as Lourdes extended its lead to 11-5. After Point scored early in the fourth, Campbell added two more goals and
Chad Causley (Clinton Township, Mich./L'Anse Creuse H.S.) added another as the lead swelled to 14-6 on the way to the victory.

Johanning and Campbell each tallied four goals, with Johanning also adding four assists for an eight-point game.Â
Mark O'Bryant (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights H.S.) added five assists while Causley scored three times in the victory.

Jake Noel (Knoxville, Tenn./William Blount H.S.) won 11-of-21 faceoffs and gathered nine ground balls while Miller was 6-of-7 at the X and had six ground balls.

Lourdes outshot Point the Skyhawks for the game 38-35, with
Jared Huiskens (Bay City, Mich./Central H.S.) making 10 saves in the cage.

William Brown and Chase Parker led Point (2-4) with three goals each while Harry Dismukes made eight saves between the posts.

Lourdes (2-1) will remain in Williamsburg, Ky. on Saturday afternoon, as the Gray Wolves face seventh-ranked Cumberlands. The opening faceoff is set for 4 p.m.
