Lourdes honored its five members of the 2018 senior class on Friday afternoon, but ninth-ranked Aquinas spoiled the celebration, scoring the first five goals of the second half on the way to a 20-13 victory over the Gray Wolves at Wildcat Stadium.

"I am glad we got to celebrate our seniors today," head coach Alyssa Shaver said following the game.  "I am proud of the way the ladies came back in the second half, but the run we let them go on was just too big for us to get close."

Aquinas scored with 13 seconds left before intermission to take a 10-8 lead at the break and scored the first five goals of the second half to push the advantage to seven.

The Gray Wolves made a run, scoring four of the next five goals, as Tiara Reed (Maumee, Ohio/Anthony Wayne H.S.) scored twice while Anna Zofchak (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover H.S.) and Shelby Kellar (Holland, Ohio/Saint Ursula Academy) each found the back of the cage to pull the Gray Wolves within four, 16-12, with 7:05 to play.

Anna Curcuru, who finished with 10 goals in the game for the Saints, stopped the Gray Wolf run, and Aquinas scored four of the final five goals to secure the victory.

Lourdes jumped out to an early lead behind goals from Kellar and Reed in the first three minutes of the contest before the Saints tallied the next three goals.  Three consecutive Gray Wolf goals, ending with Ashley Hunt (Cape May, N.J./Lower Cape May H.S.) finding the back of the net, gave Lourdes a 7-6 lead before Aquinas rallied to take the lead heading into halftime.

Reed finished the game with four goals and two assists while Alyssa Long (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn H.S.) also scored four times to lead the Lourdes offense.

Aquinas outshot the Gray Wolves 37-26, including 30-21 on goal.  Kiley Ketteman (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson H.S.) made 10 saves for Lourdes while McKenna Maltby made eight stops for the Saints.

Lourdes held a 20-19 ground ball edge on the day, led by five from Reed and four from Hannah Cullis (Fort Worth, Texas/Central H.S.).

The game marked the final home contest in the careers of Cullis, Margaret Janiga (East Aurora, N.Y./Nichols H.S.), Kellar, Ketteman, and Long.

Lourdes (8-6, 2-3) closes out the regular season on Saturday afternoon, traveling to third-ranked Lawrence Tech.  The winner earns a berth in next week's Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament while the loser's season will come to a close.  The opening draw is set for noon at the LTU Athletic Field in Southfield, Mich.
