Lourdes dropped both ends of a doubleheader on Thursday evening at University Field in Livonia, Mich., falling 4-0 in the opener and 11-3 in game two to Madonna.
 
The Crusaders scored single runs in four of their six at bats in game one while Madisen Henry threw a complete game shutout, scattering six hits while striking out seven.
 
The Gray Wolves managed two base runners in an inning just twice in the contest, with Taylor Genzman (Saint Clair Shores, Mich./Lakeview H.S.) delivering the only multi-hit game.
 
Samantha Shirling (Pemberville, Ohio/Eastwood H.S.) went the distance in the circle, allowing just two earned runs and seven hits while fanning three.
 
Lourdes jumped in front in game two on a bases loaded single by Alyssa Ziegler (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold H.S.). 
 
After Madonna (24-12, 12-4 WHAC) scored three in the bottom of the first, Lourdes tied the game in the second as Kim Waters (Belleville, Mich./Lincoln H.S.) drove home a run on a fielder's choice, and the tying run crossed the plate on a wild pitch.
 
The Crusaders retook the lead in the bottom of the second, scoring four times, before adding two runs in both the fifth and sixth frames to close out the game.
 
Genzman and Ziegler each had two of the Gray Wolves' seven hits in the nightcap.
 
Ciera Jones tossed four scoreless innings of relief, yielding three hits while striking out three for the win.  Marissa Kostick (Saint Charles, Mich./Saint Charles H.S.) suffered the loss, surrendering seven runs on five hits in 1.1 innings in the circle.
 
Lourdes (13-19, 5-11 WHAC) closes out the road portion of its schedule on Friday afternoon, traveling to Grand Rapids, Mich. to face Cornerstone.  First pitch in game one of the doubleheader is set for 3:30 p.m.
