Lourdes registered its first shutout in program history on Saturday afternoon, as the Gray Wolves blanked Concordia (Mich.) 18-0 at Cardinal Field in Ann Arbor, Mich.
The victory is the seventh of the year for the Gray Wolves, surpassing the program's previous single season record of six set back in 2016.
"We worked really hard after our last couple game at being more disciplined and it showed in our result today," head coach
Alyssa Shaver said. "We worked as a unit and kept our momentum up the entire game. I am extremely proud of the progress we have been making throughout the season."
Alyssa Long (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn H.S.) scored seven times and added an assist, giving her 51 goals and 71 total points on the year with games remaining on the season.
Tiara Reed (Maumee, Ohio/Anthony Wayne H.S.) added four goals and a helper while
Hannah Cullis (Fort Worth, Texas/Central H.S.) scored four times, including the game-winner 6:16 into the contest.
Ashley Hunt (Cape May, N.J./Lower Cape May H.S.), who also handed out five assists,
Anna Zofchak (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover H.S.), and
Shelby Kellar (Holland, Ohio/Saint Ursula Academy) each added a goal for the Gray Wolves.
Lourdes led 11-0 at halftime, scoring its first four goals in a two-minute, 33-second span. The Gray Wolves outshot Concordia 37-12 for the game, including 24-8 on goal.
Kiley Ketteman (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson H.S.) made eight saves in the shutout for Lourdes while Samantha Shatrau made six stops for Concordia (3-9, 0-2 WHAC).
The Gray Wolves also held a 30-14 ground ball advantage in the contest, led by seven from Reed. Lourdes held a 12-8 edge in draw controls, including five from Cullis.
Lourdes (7-4, 1-1) will begin its final homestand of the season on Wednesday evening, as the Gray Wolves entertain Madonna at Wildcat Stadium. The opening draw is set for 5 p.m.
