Lourdes opened the home portion of the 2018 season on Tuesday evening at Wildcat Stadium, suffering a 2-1 double-overtime loss to Huntington.

The Foresters lit up the scoreboard first as Tessy Geiss connected on a rebound following a saved shot and another that hit the cross bar to put Huntington on top in the 11
th minute.

Lourdes responded midway through the first half as a pass from
Cassie Stitt (Boardman, Ohio/Boardman H.S.) found
Karlie O'Keefe (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) in the 32
nd minute, where O'Keefe would score her team-leading fifth goal of the year to knot the contest at one. O'Keefe moved into sole possession of fifth place for goals scored in a single season at Lourdes with the tally.

Defense became the name of the game for the remainder of regulation, as the two teams headed into overtime tied 1-1 despite Huntington holding a 17-10 shot advantage through 90 minutes.

O'Keefe narrowly missed two match-winners during the first overtime period before the contest went into a second overtime period.

It took just 1:16 into the second overtime for the Foresters to capitalize as Ashtyn Patrick found the back of the net following a cross from Matea Knispel for the victory.

Huntington outshot Lourdes by a 20-14 margin, while Lourdes won the shot battle by a 4-3 margin in the overtime periods.

Kiley Transit (Royal Oak, Mich./Royal Oak H.S.) went the distance in the goal, posting seven saves for the Gray Wolves while Danielle Dehner made four stops for Huntington (2-5).

The Gray Wolves (2-2-1) will return to Wildcat Stadium on Saturday evening as they play host to Ohio Christian at 7 p.m. in their final tune-up before opening the conference slate.
