Lourdes wrapped up the non-conference portion of its 2018 season in triumphant fashion on Saturday night, scoring a 1-0 victory over Ohio Christian at Wildcat Stadium.

The two sides played an even opening 45 minutes, with Lourdes holding a slim 6-2 shot advantage, forcing Trailblazer netminder Mandi Kempton to make four stops.

The Gray Wolves increased the pressure in the second half, outshooting Ohio Christian (3-3-1) 14-3. Lourdes finally cracked the scoreboard with 20:31 remaining.Â

Lourdes outshot the Trailblazers 14-3 over the final stanza, finishing with a 20-5 edge overall and a 10-3 mark on goal. Boyd made five second half saves for Ohio Christian. The Gray Wolves also finished with a 7-2 advantage in corner kick opportunities.

Kiley Transit (Royal Oak, Mich./Royal Oak H.S.) stopped all three shots she faced for her second clean sheet of the season, and third shutout of her career.

Lourdes (3-2-1) will have a week off before beginning Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play next Saturday afternoon. The Gray Wolves will travel to Dearborn, Mich. for a noon kickoff at Gabriel Richard High School against the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
