A goal with just under 10 minutes remaining in regulation put the University of Michigan-Dearborn in front for good on Saturday afternoon, as the Wolverines defeated Lourdes 2-1 at Gabriel Richard High School in Riverview, Mich. in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opener for both schools.

The two schools played a scoreless first half, despite Lourdes outshooting the Wolverines 9-3.

Michigan-Dearborn (1-2-1, 1-0 WHAC) took the lead the just over six minutes into the second half as Margaret Miller scored an unassisted goal.

Karlie O'Keefe (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) evened the match with 20:19 to play. Following a corner kick, she found a loose ball in the box following a scramble, and beat Michigan-Dearborn netminder Jordan Anheuser for her sixth tally of the season, and 12
th of her career.

The Wolverines tallied the match-winner with 9:55 remaining, as Jenna Rogers found the back of the net with Marley Kuzner drawing the assist.

Lourdes finished the match with a 19-10 shot advantage, including a 7-5 edge on goal, but Anheuser made six stops to lift Michigan-Dearborn.Â
Kiley Transit (Royal Oak, Mich./Royal Oak H.S.) made three stops between the posts for the Gray Wolves.

The Wolverines finished the day with a 7-5 edge in corner kick opportunities.

Lourdes (3-3-1, 0-1) will remain on the road Wednesday evening, as the Gray Wolves travel to Fort Wayne, Ind. to face Indiana Tech. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Warrior Athletic Field.
