Gray Wolves Suffer Double-Overtime Setback at Indiana Tech

A goal with 2:16 remaining in the second overtime lifted Indiana Tech to a 2-1 double-overtime victory over Lourdes on Wednesday evening at the Warrior Athletic Complex in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Trailing 1-0 at halftime, Lourdes evened the match just under 14 minutes into the second half.  Lauren Poslaiko (Woodhaven, Mich./Carlson H.S.) sent a free kick into the penalty area where Maria Schmidt (Rockton, Ill./Boylan Catholic H.S.) got a head on the ball and found the back of the net for her first collegiate goal.  The assist for Poslaiko was her first career point as well.

The match remained tied at one through regulation and the first overtime period before the Warriors found the match-winning goal.  Kristen Roe curled a ball into the upper left corner after taking a shot from outside the box.

Indiana Tech (2-7, 1-1 WHAC) took a 1-0 lead with just 42 seconds remaining before halftime as Lily Rothert took a shot that bounced off the crossbar and across the goal line.

The Warriors finished the match holding a 25-10 shot advantage, including a 9-6 edge on goal.  Each team had two corner kick opportunities in the match.

Kiley Transit (Royal Oak, Mich./Royal Oak H.S.) made seven saves for the Gray Wolves while Christina Wynn made five stops in the win for Indiana Tech.

Lourdes (3-4-1, 0-2 WHAC) returns home to Wildcat Stadium on Sunday afternoon, as the Gray Wolves entertain Rochester (Mich.).  Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
