Playing its final regular season game of the 2019 calendar year, Lourdes suffered a 72-61 setback to Spring Arbor on Monday evening in non-conference action played inside the MacDonald Athletic Center in Spring Arbor, Mich.

A 10-0 run by the Cougars midway through the opening period put the hosts in front for good as Spring Arbor led 16-9 after 10 minutes. The Gray Wolves closed to within four, 21-17, at the 7:33 mark of the second quarter following a
Hunter Kershaw (Columbus, Ohio/Westland H.S.) basket before Spring Arbor scored the next 15 points to build a 19-point advantage.

The Cougars took a 41-24 lead into the locker room after committing just one first half turnover.

Spring Arbor (5-7) scored the first five points of the third quarter and opened up a 59-32 lead after 30 minutes before the Gray Wolves made a late run.

After the Cougars opened the fourth with a three-pointer, Lourdes scored the next 11 points to pull within 19. Another 11-0 run over the final 2:45 allowed the Gray Wolves to close to within 11, as Lourdes shot 64.3% from the floor in the final stanza.

Sara Semler (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer H.S.) led Lourdes with 13 points while
Mirandia Green (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer H.S.) and
Erica Cary (Central City, Ky./Muhlenberg County H.S.) each added 12 points. Lourdes shot 44.4% (8-of-18) from three-point range for the game, but was just a 38.5% shooting team from the floor overall.

Anne Marie Wright led all players with 21 points for Spring Arbor while Teona Feldpausch added 17 points. The Cougars shot 44.8% from the field and from three-point range.

Lourdes (3-11) will play an exhibition game at NCAA Division I Oakland on Saturday evening before taking two weeks off for the holiday break. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. inside the Athletics Center O'Rena in Rochester, Mich.
