Returning to the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center for the first time in nearly three weeks, fourth-ranked Lourdes needed just 65 minutes to sweep Lawrence Tech 25-12, 25-18, 25-15 on Wednesday evening.
 
"I thought we played very solid offensively tonight," head coach 
Greg Reitz said after the match.  "We controlled the tempo throughout and had an opportunity to get a large number of guys involved and contributing to the win."
 
Evan Gebert (Fort Wayne, Ind./Snider H.S.) put down 10 kills while hitting .562 and 
Ricardo Gehrke (Blumenau, Brazil/Escola Barao Do Rio Branco H.S.) added a match-high 11 kills for an offense that hit .382 on the night.  
Henrique Gehrke (Blumenau, Brazil/Escola Barao Do Rio Branco H.S.) handed out 29 assists.  
Stefan Albrecht (Euclid, Ohio/Middletown [Wis.] H.S.) came off the bench in the final two sets to add eight kills, hitting .625.
 
Defensively, 
Collin Holt (Dallas, Texas/Hebron H.S.) stepped into the libero jersey and registered 13 digs as Lourdes held a 41-23 advantage in that category.  
Fred Miller (Phoenix, Ariz./Brophy College Prep H.S.) was involved in three of the team's five blocks.
 
A 9-1 run during the opening set allowed Lourdes to take a 21-8 advantage as the Gray Wolves hit .409 in the stanza while holding the Blue Devils to a -.077 hitting mark with just five kills in set one.
 
Lourdes never trailed in the second, racing out to a 5-0 lead.  The Gray Wolves led 21-8 before Lawrence Tech made a late run to cut the deficit in half before Lourdes closed out the set.
 
A 12-4 run midway through the third allowed the Gray Wolves to pull away for the sweep.  Lourdes hit .478 in the final set with just two attack errors.
 
Calvin Ooms led Lawrence Tech (9-8, 1-3 WHAC) with seven kills while Zachary Narkiewicz recorded a team-high seven digs.
 
Lourdes (8-2, 2-0) will have nine days off before returning to the court next Friday, Feb. 22, when the Gray Wolves entertain Saint Xavier.  First serve is set for 7 p.m. inside the Ebeid Rec Center.
