Playing the middle contest in a current three-game homestand, Lourdes suffered a 17-4 setback to Marian on Saturday afternoon at Wildcat Stadium.
 
Marian struck for the first two goal before 
Tiara Reed (Maumee, Ohio/Anthony Wayne H.S.) put the Gray Wolves on the scoreboard nearing the midway point of the half.  The Knights would then score the next four goals before Reed found the back of the cage for a second time.  The visitors would tack on four more goals in the final 4:30 of the stanza to build a 10-2 lead at halftime.
 
Hannah Merrick (South Lyon, Mich./East H.S.) scored her first collegiate goal off a free position shot to open the scoring in the second half, but the Knights against responded with seven consecutive goals.  
Claire Austin (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston H.S.) tallied one final goal for the Gray Wolves with four seconds to play.
 
Marian (1-0) outshot Lourdes 36-19 for the afternoon, with Christina Soderquist and Julia Robson each scoring four times. The Knights held a 16-6 advantage in draw controls and a 13-9 edge in ground balls.
 
Jacque Pappadakes (Rocky River, Ohio/Rocky River H.S.) made 11 saves in goal for the Gray Wolves while Casey Monahan made eight stops for Marian. 
 
Lourdes (2-2) closes out its three-game homestand on Wednesday evening, as the Gray Wolves host Adrian.  The opening draw is set for 5 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium.
