Lourdes suffered a 4-3 loss in nine innings to Southeastern and a 4-0 setback to Missouri Baptist on Thursday at Legends Way in Clermont, Fla.

Southeastern took a 2-0 lead in the third inning in the Gray Wolves' first game of the morning on a two-out single.

The Gray Wolves responded in the fifth with three runs of their own.Â
Allie Teeple's (Gibsonburg, Ohio/Gibsonburg H.S.) bunt single with
Shylee Schmeltz (Gibsonburg, Ohio/Gibsonburg H.S.) on second plated a run when the throw went wide of the bag. Â Three batters later,
Tiana Card (Brook Park, Ohio/Berea-Midpark H.S.) put the Gray Wolves in front with an infield single of her own, scoring Teeple and
Olivia Stanton (Loveland, Ohio/Loveland H.S.), who walked with two outs.

The Fire immediately responded in the sixth, tying the game on a sacrifice fly after a pair of walks and a sacrifice bunt.

The game remained tied into extra innings. With the international tie-breaker in effect, both schools advanced runners to third, but could not score in the eighth. Southeastern broke the deadlock with a single in the ninth. Lourdes threatened to answer, with runners on second and third, but a double play ended the contest.

Ashley Appell earned the win (4-4) with four innings of relief for Southeastern (14-12), striking out four while yielding just one hit. Card took the loss, giving up the one unearned run in two innings of relief.

In the game against Missouri Baptist, Delissa Dennison stymied the Lourdes hitters, striking out 13 while walking just two and scattering five hits, three of which came in the seventh inning to earn the complete game win (2-3).

The Spartans scored a run on a groundout in the opening inning and increased the lead to 3-0 on a two-run home run by Meagan Elder in the third. Â A two-out single later in the inning provided the final run for Missouri Baptist (3-6).

Lourdes threatened in the seventh, loading the bases with two outs, but was unable to push across a run.

Card went the distance for the Gray Wolves in the loss (1-4), allowing seven hits and three walks while striking out two.

Lourdes (1-7) will return to Legends Way on Friday for a pair of games. The Gray Wolves will face Saint Ambrose at 11:15 a.m. and Bemidji State at 1:30 p.m.
