Playing at Wildcat Stadium for the first time in 2019, Lourdes began the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference portion of the schedule with a 21-4 victory over Taylor on Saturday afternoon.

Nine different Gray Wolves found the back of the cage while 10 players registered points in the victory.

Patrick Yannarelli said after the game. "We were happy to see the work ethic from the guys."

Lourdes jumped out to a 7-0 lead after the opening quarter as
Cory Campbell (Dayton, Ohio/Bellbrook H.S.) scored three times and
Blake Alexander (Edgewood, Ky./Dixie Heights H.S.) added two more in the opening 15 minutes.

Three more goals to open the second pushed the advantage to 10-0 before the Trojans found the scoreboard, but the Gray Wolves responded with four more tallies before halftime to build a 14-1 lead at the break. Lourdes outshot Taylor 24-9 in the first half.

Campbell's fourth goal of the game and a marker by
Jake Noel (Knoxville, Tenn./William Blount H.S.) increased the Lourdes edge to 16-1 before the Trojans scored their second of the contest. Noel fired home another goal as the horn expired in the quarter making it 19-2 heading into the final 15 minutes.

Both teams scored twice in the final stanza as Lourdes finished the contest with a 43-20 edge in shots.

Nick Johnson (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg H.S.) also scored four times for the Gray Wolves while adding a pair of assists for a team-high six points. Noel and
Collin Miller (Royal Oak, Mich./Shrine Catholic H.S.) each added three tallies.

Tyler Griffiths (Fort Wayne ,Ind./Snider H.S.) and
Clay Hall (Great Mills, Md./Saint Mary's Ryken H.S.) both had their first goals of the year on the afternoon.

Miller won 7-of-13 faceoffs and had a team-high seven ground balls while Noel added six ground balls.Â
Luke Burridge (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater H.S.) caused four turnovers.

In goal,
Tyler Hart (Brighton, Mich./Brighton H.S.) made three saves over the first 41 minutes while
Chris Douds (Stow, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls H.S.) and
Sam Cleveland (Clackamas, Ore./Clackamas H.S.) made two and three saves respectively in relief.

Kyle Mongoven made 10 stops in the cage for Taylor (2-1, 0-1 WHAC) while the Trojans had four different goal scorers offensively. Nathan Sahly had a game-high nine ground balls for Taylor.

Lourdes (5-1, 1-0 remains home on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves entertain Lawrence Tech. The opening faceoff is set for 6 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium.
