After struggling to get anything going offensively through the first three quarters, Lourdes rallied in the fourth quarter to force overtime before dropping a heartbreaking 8-7 decision to Lawrence Tech on Wednesday evening at Wildcat Stadium.

Trailing 6-1 heading into the fourth quarter,
Blake Alexander (Edgewood, Ky./Dixie Heights) capitalized on a
Drew Gilhooly (Livonia, Mich./Detroit Catholic Central) assist to begin the rally and get Lourdes within 6-2 with 11:01 left in the contest.

Minutes later, Alexander again beat the Lawrence Tech (4-4, 1-1 WHAC) keeper to cut the gap to 6-3 with 7:27 left. Just 27 seconds later
Chad Causley (Clinton Township, Mich./L'Anse Creuse) found Alexander for his third straight goal, getting Lourdes within 6-4 with just 7:00 left on the clock.

With 6:41 left in the fourth, Causley found the back of the cage to cut the gap to 6-5.

After Lawrence Tech slowed the Gray Wolves momentum with a goal at the 1:44 mark of the fourth quarter, Causley once again found an open Alexander who capitalized and once again got Lourdes within one goal with just 42 seconds left on the clock.

Lourdes sent the stadium into a frenzy with nine seconds left in the fourth quarter after
Cory Campbell (Dayton, Ohio/Bellbrook) found
Nick Johnson (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg) for the game-tying goal, ultimately forcing the overtime period.

After the Blue Devils won the faceoff and called a timeout, Damian Hudson scored from 15 yards out to seal the 8-7 overtime victory.

Lawrence Tech scored the first two goals of the game before Causley got Lourdes within 2-1 after his first goal of the evening.

The Blue Devils then scored four goals over the course of the first, second and third quarters to take a 6-1 lead before Lourdes began its rally.

Tyler Hart (Brighton, Mich./Brighton) was solid in the cage, stopping a season-best 15 shots in the loss.

Alexander paced Lourdes offensively with four goals, while Causley added two assists.

Lourdes (5-2, 1-1 WHAC) returns to action on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. as they take on No. 4-ranked Aquinas on the road.
