Upcoming in Gray Wolves Softball: After 10 days off following the conclusion of the annual spring trip, Lourdes returns north to begin Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play this week with three doubleheaders.  The Gray Wolves head to Michigan-Dearborn on Tuesday evening before traveling to Rochester (Mich.) on Saturday and Cleary on Sunday.

Head Coach Jo Ann Gordon: In her seventh season on the Lourdes bench, Jo Ann Gordon has a 86-160 (.350) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  In her 16th season overall as a head softball coach, Gordon has a 238-448 (.347) career mark.  She is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes is 7-6 all-time against Michigan-Dearborn in a series that began April 3, 2013.  The Gray Wolves swept last year's twinbill at Pacesetter Park by scores of 3-2 (10 innings) and 5-3.  The Wolverines have won all four previous meetings in Ann Arbor, Mich.  Lourdes is 4-0 all-time against Rochester (Mich.) dating back to the initial meeting on April 4, 2017.  Last season the Gray Wolves swept the Warriors 3-1 and 5-1.  This will be Lourdes first trip to Rochester Hills, Mich.  Lourdes holds a 6-2 series edge against Cleary dating back to March 21, 2015.  Last year the Cougars won game one of a twinbill at Pacesetter Park 6-0 before the Gray Wolves rebounded for a 4-1 game two victory.  Lourdes holds a 3-1 advantage all-time in Howell, Mich.

Wrapping Up Last Week (or Two Weeks Ago): Lourdes finished its spring trip in Clermont, Fla. with a 4-8 record overall, but the Gray Wolves won three of their last four contests.  Lourdes is coming off a 4-3 victory over Missouri Baptist and a 7-1 triumph over Saint Mary (Neb.) on March 16 in the team's final day of play on the trip.

Scouting Michigan-Dearborn: The Wolverines have been idle since March 8 when they split a doubleheader with West Virginia Tech, dropping the opener 5-3 before bouncing back with a 6-4 triumph.  Madelin Skene leads Michigan-Dearborn with a .404 batting average and has 11 runs batted in.  As a team, the Wolverine offense is hitting .288.  Ashleynn Henderson leads the pitching staff with a 3-1 record and a 1.86 earned run average in 26.1 innings of work.  As a team, Michigan-Dearborn hurlers sport a 3.52 ERA while opponents are hitting .277 against them.

Scouting Rochester (Mich.): The Warriors enter the week having swept Ohio-Chillicothe 14-9 and 20-0 on Saturday afternoon in a doubleheader.  Rochester hosts Cornerstone on Wednesday before Lourdes visits on Saturday.  Mackenzie Muncy leads the Warriors batting .368 on the season with three home runs and six runs batted in for an offense hitting .236 overall.  Taylor Foy has logged the majority of the innings in the circle, and sports a 7.13 earned run average.

Scouting Cleary: The Cougars enter the week having won four of their last five games, the most recent a 7-4 triumph over Reinhardt on March 8.  Cleary heads to Cornerstone on Tuesday and Lawrence Tech on Saturday before hosting Lourdes.  Kaitlin Dormire leads the Cougars offensively with a .422 batting average, four home runs, and 14 runs batted in.  As a team, Cleary is hitting .296 overall.  Natalie O'Reilly leads the pitching staff with a 3-3 record and a 2.57 ERA.

Lourdes In WHAC Openers: Lourdes is 2-4 all-time in its WHAC openers.  The Gray Wolves snapped a four-game losing streak in conference openers with a 3-2 triumph over Michigan-Dearborn in 10 innings in the first conference game of the 2018 slate.  Lourdes is 1-2 when opening league play on the road, last doing so in 2016 at Michigan-Dearborn.

A Solid Trip All-Around: Marissa Kostick made the most of her spring trip in Florida, leading the Gray Wolves both at the plate and in the circle.  The senior batted .424 with two home runs and 14 runs batted in while posting a .758 slugging percentage in the 12 games.  In the circle, the right-hander went 3-1 with a 4.25 earned run average in 26.1 innings of work while limiting the opposition to just a .253 batting average.  Defensively, Kostick posted a .987 fielding percentage between pitching and at first base, committing just one error.

Quite the Lourdes Debut: Transfer Allie Teeple made the most of her first games in a Gray Wolf uniform.  The Lourdes catcher and outfielder batted .440 with 11 hits in 25 at bats while scoring nine runs.  Teeple was also a perfect 7-for-7 on the base paths swiping bags.

Bringing Home Runs: Kayla Gauthier left Florida second on the team with eight runs batted in thus far this season.  The junior third baseman drove home five runs in the first victory of the year against Saint Marys-of-the-Woods.

Freshmen in the Circle: Rookies Ashley Riley and Tiana Card both were thrust into starting pitching roles in Florida.  Riley threw 20 innings over five appearances while Card logged a team-high 29.2 innings in eight outings, striking out a team-high 15 hitters.

This and That: Marissa Kostick tied a school record with six runs batted in against Saint Mary (Neb.) in the team's most recent game ... Olivia Stanton has drawn seven walks in her first 35 plate appearances of the year ... all 15 Gray Wolves that were healthy on the spring trip saw action in at least three games ... the Gray Wolves are 5-14 all-time when playing extra innings after falling in nine innings to Southeastern ...
