Lourdes came up short in both ends of a doubleheader against Rochester (Mich.) on Thursday afternoon, falling to the Warriors 3-2 and 7-3 at Jaycee Park in Rochester Hills, Mich.

The Gray Wolves scored first in the opener, as
Alexis Nowowiecki (Saint Clair Shores, Mich./Lakeview H.S.) scored as part of an attempted double steal in the third inning.

Rochester responded in the fourth with three consecutive two-out singles to plate a pair of runs, building a 2-1 lead which the Warriors would take into the seventh.

Lourdes rallied in the final frame, as
Kim Waters (Belleville, Mich./Lincoln H.S.) singled home Nowowiecki with two outs to even the score.

The Warriors would win the game in the bottom of the seventh though, as a two-base error, a passed ball, and a single plated the game-winning run.

Tylor Goy earned the win in the circle for the Warriors, allowing one earned run and seven hits while striking out four in a complete game effort.Â
Marissa Kostick (Saint Charles, Mich./Saint Charles H.S.) suffered the loss striking out three while allowing two earned runs and six hits while going the distance.

In game two, Rochester (10-24, 5-9 WHAC) raced out to the early lead, scoring a pair of unearned runs in the first before Lauren Donaldson hit a grand slam in the second to give the hosts a 6-2 lead.

Waters singled with two outs in the third to score Nowowiecki and
Allie Teeple (Gibsonburg, Ohio/Gibsonburg H.S.), cutting into the Rochester lead. The game remained 6-2 into the sixth when the Warriors added an unearned insurance run.

Lourdes tried to battle back in the seventh, as
Kayla Gauthier (Linwood, Mich./Pinconning H.S.) delivered a pinch-hit single to score
Erin Manley (Ottawa Lake, Mich./Whiteford H.S.), who led off the inning with a double. The Gray Wolves loaded the bases in the final frame before a diving catch in the outfield ended the game.

Waters had the only multi-hit game of the day for Lourdes with two of the team's seven hits in the nightcap.

Brittney Resinger earned the win, allowing three hits and one earned run in six innings of work while
Tiana Card (Brook Park, Ohio/Berea-Midpark H.S.) suffered the loss, allowing six runs, four of which were earned, and four hits in 1.2 innings in the circle.Â
R45i (Oak Harbor, Ohio/Oak Harbor H.S.) came on in relief for Lourdes, striking out eight in 4.1 innings of work.

Lourdes (6-18, 2-10) continues its eight-game road trip on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Lima, Ohio to battle the University of Northwestern Ohio. First pitch in game one of the doubleheader is set for 1 p.m. at Racer Field.
