Olivia Stanton (Loveland, Ohio/Loveland H.S.) hit a two-run home run for Lourdes in game two of Tuesday's doubleheader at Cleary, but that would account for the Gray Wolves' lone runs on the evening as the Cougars won both ends of the twinbill 8-0 and 10-2 at Lake Trust Stadium in Howell, Mich.
 
Marissa Kostick (Saint Charles, Mich./Saint Charles H.S.) reached on a one-out error in the opening inning and scored on Stanton's sixth career round-tripper, and first of the season.
 
The Cougars answered with a run in the bottom of the first, but Lourdes maintained a 2-1 lead into the fourth.  In the top of the frame, the Gray Wolves threatened to add on to the lead, loading the bases with one out, but was unable to score.  Cleary responded with four runs in the bottom of the frame, three of which were unearned, to take the lead for good.
 
Cleary ended the game in the fifth, scoring five times, all unearned, after taking advantage of a two-out error by the Gray Wolves.
 
Kayla Gauthier (Linwood, Mich./Pinconning H.S.) went 2-for-2 for Lourdes in game two, accounting for the Gray Wolves' two other hits in addition to Stanton's home run.
 
Lourdes managed just four hits in the opener, with Alyssa Ziegler (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold H.S.) going 2-for-2 in the game.
 
Cleary (25-9, 12-4 WHAC) took the lead with three runs in the first and added two more in the fifth before Kaitlin Dormire ended the game in the sixth with a three-run home run.
 
Lourdes (6-22, 2-14) will return to the diamond on Thursday afternoon, traveling to Detroit, Mich. to face Lawrence Tech. First pitch in game one of the doubleheader is set for 3:30 p.m. at Buysse Ballpark on the campus of the University of Detroit Mercy.
