Lourdes remained perfect inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center this season and moved into the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference championship match on Friday evening with a 25-17, 25-16, 25-17 victory over Lawrence Tech in the tournament semifinals.
 
The second-ranked, and top-seeded Gray Wolves have now won 20 consecutive home contests and are a perfect 12-0 this season on their home floor.
 
"This was a solid team performance tonight," head coach Greg Reitz said afterwards.  "I thought we served and passed well which led to an efficient offense.  Now we need to focus on tomorrow night's match."
 
Lourdes hit .311 for the evening while limiting the Blue Devils to a .068 clip.  The Gray Wolves finished with a 37-20 kill advantage and a 30-17 edge in digs on the night.
 
Trailing 4-1 to start the match, Lourdes took the lead for good 9-8 in the opening set.  The stanza remained close throughout the first half, with the Gray Wolves holding just a 14-13 advantage before closing the set on a 11-4 run. 
 
In the second, Lourdes held Lawrence Tech to a -.040 hitting percentage and just five kills.  Again the set was close at 13-11 before a 12-5 spurt, keyed by six consecutive points, allowed the Gray Wolves to build a 2-0 advantage in the match.
 
The final set was similar to the first two, with Lourdes leading 13-12 before pulling away with another 12-5 run to close the match.  The Gray Wolves again limited the Lawrence Tech offense, limiting the Blue Devils to just a .042 hitting mark in the stanza.
 
Evan Gebert (Fort Wayne, Ind./Snider H.S.) led all players with 10 kills in the match while hitting at a .471 clip for the Gray Wolves.  He also had a match-high eight digs and four service aces.  Henrique Gehrke (Blumenau, Brazil/Escola Barao Do Rio Branco H.S.) handed out 34 assists while Stefan Albrecht (Euclid, Ohio/Middleton [Wis.] H.S.) added three aces.  Fred Miller (Phoenix, Ariz./Brophy College Prep H.S.) tallied three blocks.
 
Joshua Eckert led fourth-seeded Lawrence Tech (15-18) with nine kills while Zachary Narkiewicz tallied seven digs for the Blue Devils.
 
Lourdes (22-3) will face second-seeded, and sixth-ranked, Aquinas on Saturday evening for the WHAC title.  First serve is set for 5 p.m. inside the Ebeid Rec Center.
