Erin Caldwell (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing H.S.) scored the match's lone goal in the second half and Kerstyn Williams (Taylor, Mich./Woodhaven H.S.) notched her third career shutout on Friday evening as Lourdes picked up its first victory of the season, a 1-0 triumph over Point Park at Wildcat Stadium.

"We're very proud of the girls' efforts tonight," head coach Jackie Phillips said afterwards.  "Each player committed to their role and it was an all-around team win."

Lourdes held a 10-6 shot advantage in the first half, including a 5-2 edge on goal, and had five corner kick opportunities, but neither team was able to find the back of the net.

The Gray Wolves added to the offensive pressure in the second half, when Caldwell found the back of the net for the match-winner.  Chloe Shaffer (Rossford, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.) played a ball from the middle of the box towards the right where Caldwell connected from 20 yards out for her fourth career goal.  The assist for Shaffer was her first collegiate point.

Lourdes outshot the Pioneers 13-4 over the final 45 minutes, with Ashtyn Webb making 11 saves in goal for Point Park (0-2) to keep the visitors in the match.  Williams made four saves in goal for the shutout, including two more in the second half.

Abigail Mann (Toledo, Ohio/Southview H.S.) had eight total shots for the Gray Wolves, five of which were on frame.

Lourdes (1-0) will remain home on Sunday afternoon to face a second straight River States Conference opponent as Rio Grande visits Wildcat Stadium.  Kickoff is set for noon.
