Lourdes saw its four-match winning streak come to an end on Wednesday afternoon, as the Gray Wolves suffered a 5-1 setback on the road to Ohio Christian at the Soccer Complex in Circleville, Ohio.

The Gray Wolves struck first just over six minutes into the match as
Katie Varney (Brownstown, Mich./Woodhaven H.S.) tallied her second goal of the season while
Abigail Mann (Toledo, Ohio/Southview H.S.) handed out the assist. Mann leads Lourdes with six points on the season.

The Trailblazers tied the match 15 minutes later as Brooke Lezotte scored an unassisted tally. Morgen Grunkemeyer assisted on a pair of Ohio Christian goals just five minutes apart late in the stanza as the hosts took a 3-1 lead into intermission. Danyelle Forrester and Brailey Murphy both found the back of the net.

Lezotte's second tally of the match less than five minutes into the second half pushed Ohio Christian's lead to 4-1 and Murphy added her second goal of the contest with 5:17 to play to close out the scoring.

Ohio Christian (3-2) outshot Lourdes 15-12 for the afternoon, including a 14-6 edge on goal.Â
Jayla Musselman (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) had a team-high three shots, all on net, for the Gray Wolves.

Maddy Hodgson (Walbridge, Ohio/Lake H.S.), making her collegiate debut in goal, made nine saves for the Gray Wolves. Brittany Hanson made one first half stop for the Trailblazers while Danica Hanschu had four second half saves.

Lourdes (4-2) will close out its three-match road trip next Wednesday, Sept. 25, as the Gray Wolves open Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play in Lima, Ohio. Kickoff against Northwestern Ohio is set for 4 p.m. at Racer Stadium.
