Katie Varney's (Brownstown, Mich./Woodhaven H.S.) with 36 seconds remaining in overtime lifted Lourdes to a come from behind 5-4 victory over Michigan-Dearborn on Saturday afternoon at Wildcat Stadium.

Lourdes found the back of the net just 13 minutes into the game as Varney took a cross from
Abigail Mann (Toledo, Ohio/Southview H.S.) on the left side of the box, and scored her third goal of the season. Michigan-Dearborn responded quickly with a goal of their own by Gabriella Teems at six minutes later as the two sides went into halftime deadlocked at one.

Just 6:33 into the second half of play, Mann scored from long range to give the Gray Wolves a one goal advantage, and 15 minutes later
Morgan Henkle (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer H.S.) added a tally of her own, assisted by Mann, to give Lourdes a 3-1 lead.

Michigan-Dearborn (1-4, 0-1 WHAC) scored just 14 seconds later on a goal from Melanie Skamiera to cut the lead to one, and Jenna Rogers would tie the match at three off a rebound from her own shot just over three minutes later.

The Wolverines took a 4-3 lead with Marta Andreu's goal of from Gabriella Teems for the visitor's third goal in a 6:20 span.

With time winding down in the second half, Mann found the net once again with 7:10 minutes to play. She beat a defender down the field and collected a pass from
Erin Caldwell (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing H.S.), putting it past goalkeeper Jordan Anheuser to tie the game at four, forcing overtime.

With 36 seconds remaining in the first overtime period, Varney took a corner kick to the left of Anheuser that curled into the goalmouth, deflecting off the keeper's hands into the back of the net to give the Gray Wolves their first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference victory of the season.

Lourdes finished the match with a 23-19 shot advantage, but the Wolverines had a 12-11 edge on goal.Â
Kerstyn Williams (Taylor, Mich./Woodhaven H.S.) made eight stops for the Gray Wolves in the win while Anheuser had six stops for the Wolverines.

Lourdes (5-3, 1-1) will remain home on Wednesday afternoon as the Gray Wolves host Indiana Tech. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium.
