Lourdes scored twice in the first half and added an insurance goal in the final minutes on Saturday as the Gray Wolves notched their third straight victory, downing Bethel (Ind.) 3-0 at Wildcat Stadium.

"I was proud of the girls' efforts today," head coach Jackie Phillips said afterwards.  "It was great to see multiple players contribute to the final score and keep a clean sheet."

Karlie O'Keefe (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) scored her first goal of the season 19:44 into the first half off a cross by Maria Schmidt (Rockton, Ill./Boylan Catholic H.S.) to open the scoring for the Gray Wolves. The goal was the 13th of O'Keefe's career, tying Clare Ciarlino's school record for career goals.

In the closing minutes of the first half, Maddy Hodgson (Walbridge, Ohio/Lake H.S.) fed a through ball to the right side of the box where Erika Turk (Parma, Ohio/Parma H.S.) beat the keeper on the left goalpost and netted her first goal of her career for the Gray Wolves, extending the lead to 2-0 at the break.

Chloe Shaffer (Rossford, Ohio/Toledo Central Catholic H.S.) added one final insurance goal in the closing minutes of the match as she dribbled through the right side of the box and beat the keeper wide for Lourdes' third and final goal of the day.  The tally was also the first of Shaffer's career.

Lourdes outshot the Pilots 27-7 in the match, with the shots on goal count tilting in the Gray Wolves favor 10-1. Bethel (2-4) goalkeeper Janae Willis made seven saves, while Kerstyn Williams (Taylor, Mich./Woodhaven H.S.) saved the only shot attempt she faced to solidify her fourth career shutout.

The Gray Wolves (3-1) will be on the road against Huntington on Wednesday, Sept. 11, where they will look to win their fourth straight and match the program record for consecutive wins set in 2017. Kickoff at King Stadium in Huntington, Ind. is set for 3 p.m.
