Third-ranked Lourdes extended its consecutive sets streak to 16 after finishing off its fifth straight sweep on Saturday evening, defeating Indiana Tech 25-20, 25-17, 25-17 inside of the Schaefer Center in Fort Wayne, Ind.

"This was a pretty solid performance for us," head coach
Greg Reitz said afterwards. "We didn't serve as well as we would like, but we passed well. Our offense was very efficient and we were very sound defensively."

The opening set was close throughout until Lourdes scored six consecutive points after the stanza was tied at 17 to earn the win. The Gray Wolves went on an early 6-1 run in set two on the way to building a 10-5 lead, gradually extending the advantage throughout the remainder of the set. Lourdes jumped out to a quick 7-2 edge in the final set on the way to completing the sweep.

Jeff Lam (Richmond, B.C./Hugh McRoberts H.S.) led all players with 13 kills for the Gray Wolves while
Max Petuhov (Wets Hills, Calif./El Camino Real H.S.) hit .455 with seven kills.Â
Henrique Gehrke (Blumenau, Brazil/Escola Barao Do Rio Branco H.S.) handed out 33 assists for an offense that hit .266 as a team.

Guga Heidrich (Braco do Norte, Brazil/Colegio Unificado H.S.) registered a match-high 10 digs while Petuhov tallied five blocks to pace the defense.Â

Cameron Ternent led Indiana Tech (3-5, 0-2 WHAC) with seven kills as the Warriors hit just .096 for the match. Indiana Tech also committed 16 service errors.

Lourdes (6-0, 2-0) will have 12 days off before returning to the court on Thursday, Feb. 6 as the Gray Wolves head to Chicago, Ill. to battle Saint Xavier. First serve is set for 8 p.m. EST inside of the Shannon Center.
