Lourdes found the back of the net for the first time this season on Saturday afternoon, but was unable to rally from a three-goal deficit and fell at Lawrence Tech 3-1 at Blue Devils Stadium in Southfield, Mich.

Katie Varney (Brownstown, Mich./Woodhaven H.S.) put Lourdes on the scoreboard with 4:26 to play before halftime, scoring her sixth career goal with the Gray Wolves. Freshman
Chloe Nofziger (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold H.S.) drew the assist, her first collegiate point.

Varney's tally made it a 3-1 match heading into intermission. Lawrence Tech struck first at the 20:29 mark as Jenny Dear scored an unassisted goal. DiOnna Hill made it 2-0 Blue Devils with 16:04 left before halftime while Dear tallied her second goal of the match just 2:29 before Varney's goal.

Neither team found the back of the net in the second half. Lawrence Tech outshot Lourdes 20-8 for the match, including 10-5 on goal. Varney and
Jules Snowden (Cincinnati, Ohio/Wyoming H.S.) had two shots each for the Gray Wolves.

Lily Yoder (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg H.S.) made one save for the Gray Wolves in the opening 45 minutes while
Kerstyn Williams (Taylor, Mich./Woodhaven H.S.) stopped all five second half shots she faced. Rebecca Almondoz made three stops in net for Lawrence Tech (2-0, 2-0 WHAC).

Lourdes had an 8-2 edge in corner kick opportunities in the match, including six chances in the second half.

Lourdes (0-4, 0-3) will play its final road match of the fall schedule next Saturday as the Gray Wolves travel to Ann Arbor, Mich. to face Concordia (Mich.). Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. at Cardinal Stadium.
